He who has ears to hear, let him hear! Tax collectors and sinners heard Jesus. They were listening, listening gladly. The Pharisees heard Jesus, but they didn't listen, they grumbled, grumbled. The Pharisees were grumbling, grumbling, "What is this man, Jesus' game?" The Pharisees were mumbling, mumbling, "What is this man's this man's aim?" The Pharisees were stumbling; they did not understand his name. "He's friends with many sinners, sinners," they moan, they gripe, and they complain. "He sits with them at dinner, and he calls each one by name." They did not have a glimmer of a hint about why Jesus came.

The father divided the property, between the brothers. Not many days later the younger son gathered all that he had and took a journey. He travelled far; he travelled wide. He travelled up and down. Until he came to a distant town. Oh, the friends he made, they were so fine. When he took his money out they stood in line. When he walked in the room with his entourage, There was a sudden hush and then a frantic rush, "Get to the money boy", a crush, a wild barrage! Oh he was careless, and he was rash, Flaunting all his newfound wealth, showing off his cash. The lovely ladies came with their gaudy rings, Staring with greedy eyes, rehearsing many lies. "I'll love you 'money boy', just spend and buy me things." He danced the dance of sorrow, not thinking of tomorrow -- the tango of delusion. He drank wine in great profusion; his love songs were beautiful illusions. He squandered his money, he wasted his life: No friends and no income, no home and no wife. Everything he had was gone. All was gone.

Alone 03:45
And when he spent everything, there arose a famine. He began to be in need; He sold his labor. He lived alone. How great his misery! And when he was sent to feed the swine he was so hungry That he was even willing to eat the animals' food! Alone, lonely, dejected, solitary, homeless, Friendless, destitute, unsettled, wretched, needy and pathetic, Hopeless, hopeless: Misery!
6.
But when he came to himself, that's when he started to know He had thrown away an extroardinary life. Why was his learning so slow? He remembered his father's servants had more than enough to eat; Back to his home he will go. But when he came to himself, here's what he finally saw: He was barely living, was hungry all the time. Why was he feeding on straw? He remembered his father's hired men had clothes to keep them warm; Back to his home he will crawl. What had he been thinking? What had he done? Thought he had a thousand friends, but he had no one. All out of money, dressed in dirty clothes, shoes full of holes, you can see his toes! Sold his rings, his royal robes, living in a pigsty, he began to decompose!

I Will Arise 04:23
"I will arise and go to my father. And I will say to him, say to him, 'Father, I have sinned. Father, I have sinned against heaven, against heaven and before you.'" Then he arose and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and had compassion. And he ran, he ran; he embraced him, he kissed him! "Father, I have sinned. Father, I have sinned against heaven, against heaven and before you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son." His father stopped him, said to his servants, "Find the best robe, put it on him; Put a ring on his finger and put shoes on his feet. He embraced him. He kissed him!

Open Arms 01:58
The father welcomed him with open arms, the son whose heart had been turned around. The son whose soul was sick, it is well; the son who was lost at last has been found. The father ordered a special feast; invited neighbors and friends he's known. He called the family, "Come, rejoice! Come, sing with the angels, my son is home." A celebration will now be called. The wandering sinner has now arrived. Break out with music and with song! Rejoice! The dead has come home alive!

My son is found. My son is found. My son is found. My son is found! Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice with tamborine and with dancing, with dancing, Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice! Strike the harp, play the lyre, play the trumpet and sing! What is going on? What is all that noise? Do you tell me that my brother's arrived and my father is delighted? I am full of rage! I am wild with anger. Don't tell me about a party today; don't tell me that I'm invited. Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice with tamborine, tamborine and with dancing, with dancing, Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice! Strike the harp, play the lyre, play the trumpet and sing! Father, you have welcomed home the one who spent your money, The one who wasted every thing that he had, yet you kill the calf you've fattened! How can you forgive? How can you still love him? I am angry that he's back in our home; I don't care about my brother and my structured mood has just been flattened. I have served you well; I obeyed your laws, And yet you never even gave me a goat for a little celebration. Now you say to me, "Son, you're always with me." You saw everything that you have is mine. That is not enough! His ties with us should be cut off: repudiation!

What man? -- what woman? -- what man having one hundred sheep -- What woman having ten silver coins -- What man -- what woman -- losing one of his sheep -- What woman -- if she loses one coin -- What man does not leave the ninety-nine? What woman does not light a lamp? What man wouldn't look for the one that was lost? What woman wouldn't sweep the house and search diligently? What man when he found his sheep will not lay it on his shoulders And when he comes home calls (her) his friends and (her) his neighbors. They call together their friends and neighbors, saying, "Rejoice with me for I found the sheep that was lost!" "Rejoice with me for I found the coin that was lost!" Just so I tell you, there is more joy, there is more joy, more joy in heaven, Over one sinner who repents, over one sinner, More joy than over ninety-nine righteous, who need no repentance. Joy in heaven!
11.
Elder brother, you had a younger brother who was lost. When it was dark you did not go look for him. You did not light a lamp, sweep over the land. You did not go after the one who was lost. You did not find him. You made no attempt to bring him home, rejoicing; And when he came to himself and returned, Elder brother, you did not call together your friends and neighbors. You did not say to them, "Rejoice with me for the brother who was lost has been found!" But while you were raging with anger, There was joy in heaven!

If you have ears and you can hear, if you have eyes that give you sight; If in your heart and in your mind, your understanding is right; You will join the father at his feast, you will join his neighbors and his friends. You will join the angels in heaven with a song that never ends. Can you celebrate with joy and put your bitterness aside? The wandering sinner has come home. He has been found and he is alive! Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice with tamborine and dancing, with dancing, Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice! Strike the harp, play the lyre, play the trumpet and sing! Play the lute, play the trumpet and lute. Rejoice and be glad for the heavens resound With joy over one sinner who repents, who repents, so rejoice! Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, rejoice! He gathers the outcasts of Israel. He heals the broken hearted. He gathers the outcasts of Israel. He binds up their wounds. My son was dead but now he is alive! My son was dead but now he is alive! My son is dead but now he is alive! My son was lost but now he is found! Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice with tamborine, tamborine and with dancing, with dancing, Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice! Strike the harp, play the lyre, play the trumpet and sing! Play the lute, play the trumpet and lute. Rejoice and be glad for the heavens resound With joy over one sinner who repents, who repents, so rejoice! Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice, rejoice! My son, my son, my son was lost, lost! My son was lost, my son was lost, lost! My son is found. My son is found. My son is found. My son is found!
